Artist Residency at Sharjah Art Foundation

Sharjah Art Foundation is pleased to announce that Hoda Afshar will be an artist-in-residence at #SharjahArtFoundation.

Drawing from her experiences of cultural dislocation, Afshar explores the complex relationships between truth and representation through photography. Her imagery, which sits at the intersection between conceptual and documentary image-making, is filled with themes related to gender, marginality, migration and displacement.

During her residency, the artist will consider the Gulf region-which she has previously documented from the vantage point of Iran-through her lived encounters in Sharjah.
